SPEECH ABOUT ROCK MUSIC BY ME

Good Morning Friends... Assalamualaikum wr.wb

Today, i will tell you about a story.

                There is a boy who sits on the bus station alone. Suddenly a girl, his classmate,  comes and sits next to him. She says, ”Hi Jo! You want to go home?” the boy is nodding but he does not stare at her. The girl looks ahead to road to find a bus and then the girl continues the conversation.

“I have problem with math. Can you teach me about it?” and the boy shakes his head, the girl startles, “Why you don’t want to help me?” still not staring the girl and then he shakes his head again. “Am i doing something to you?” he shakes his head again. The girl gets mad, “Oh my god I hate you?”. She stands up and walks away in front of that boy, but suddenly the boy calls her, “Hi Sherly! Where do you want to go?”

“What?” the girl answers by confused. Finally the boy pick his headset up. That is just a story how music so influence our life. We need music to refresh our day. But now i will talk about music especially rock music. The first i will discuss about history of rock music and the second about development of rock music.

Firstly, history is a first step of presence of something. When rock music began to emerge? Rock music is a genre of a popular music that developed during and after 1960’s  in the United Kingdom and the United State particularly. It has roots in 1940’s and 1950’s rock and roll. Musically, rock has centred aroud the electric guitar, usually as part of rock group with bass guitar and drums. A group of musician who take especially in playing rock, it’s called Rock band or Rock group.

For example, in Indonesia the first generation of rocker are God Bless, Gang Pegangsaan, Bentoel, and Gypsy. Other example is The Beattles. This group was a band that become an inspiration to other, they came from United Kingdom.

Now i’d like to move on to second part, the development of rock music. First, in 1960’s and early 1970’s, rock music evolved into several types, mixed with folk music to be folk rock, with blues to be blues rock, and with jazz to be a jazz rock.

Next in 1970’s, rock evolved into various subgenres such as soft rock, glam rock, heavy metal and punk rock.

Finally, in 1980’s , there was grunge, britpop, indie rock, and new metal. Sub category stuck out in the year including new wave, hard core punk, and alternative rock. For instance, implementation of international concert of two metal super group in Indonesia, Sepultura (1992) and Metallica (1993) give considerable contribution to the development of similar metal band in Indonesia.

So to summarize my speech, rock music is developed during and after 1960’s in the United Kingdom and United State. Rock has centred around the electric guitar, bass guitar, and drums. In 1970’s rock evolved such as soft rock, glam rock, heavy metal and in 1980’s such as grunge, britpop, indie rock, and new metal.

In conclusion, my recommendation is let respect all of genre music, every music has art and music is an art to explore ourselves.
